FTP and NIS ??

Hi, there is about 2 weeks i am trying to get my FTP server to work
together with my NIS, but NIS user simply are not allowed do ftp the
machine. /etc/shells are correctly and /var/yp/src/passwd too. I simply
don't know what to do!!!!!
Give som help!! A guy told me a woul need do use rpc, but how do it?
