How to get disk usage on subdirectories

Hello supertechs,
How do I get the disk usage statistics on subdirectories,and any ideas
on how to put it all in a script so that I get disk usage stats on a
weekly basis.Thanks for your help I know you guys...and gals will know
what to do.
