Hello,
I've been running already installed systems but I've never installed
UNIX myself. Now is the time I'll have to do it myself and it's somewhat
scary (mildly speaking) so please help.

I've got:
  AlphaServer 1000 4/200 and AlphaServer 300
Digital UNIX 4.0b with duv40bas00007-19980514 as the last patch
  CD with Digital UNIX 4.0b

Important applications:
~500 users with no shell (just for mail) on AlphaServer 1000,
C2 security on AlphaServer 300 (almost no users, just for web)
  sendmail
  popd
Netscape Enterprise Server 2.0 (trying to get something newer)
  named

I'll get:
  CD with Digital UNIX 4.0d

I'll do complete backup first. What do I do next? What parameters
should I write down in case everything goes wrong? When I get the CD is
there a specific command I'll have to run? Is there a way to "just" run
upgrade or do I have to install UNIX from scratch? Any advices, tips on
what can go wrong will be _greatly_ apreciated.

Thanks in advance,
