Strange failure of kloadsrvd

Hello fellow DU managers.

We recently had a strange instance where the daemon 'kloadsrvd' ceased to
function and then failed to start when the machine was rebooted. A subsequent
reboot fixed the problem. (We were doing various investigative things between
each reboot, we weren't bouncing the box for the sake of bouncing it.)

Before the failure, the box had been running perfectly for several months, and
has been running without a problem since the last reboot.

uname -a returns:
OSF1 silas-1.cc.monash.edu.au V4.0 878 alpha

The following string is printed when you login to the machine:
Digital UNIX V4.0D (Rev. 878); Mon May 18 10:04:05 EST 1998

Now, I can not find anything in any of the logs relating to kloadsrvd, and the
only place I can find it mentioned is in /sbin/init.d/autosysconfig, which
merely checks if kloadsrvd is running, and starts it if it isn't running.

My question: Has anyone else had this problem?

Many thanks in advance.

Steve
