I guess a little explanation is in order. I would like to not have to have
the 90TL's do a MOP load from the host if possible. Right now they load
from the VMS host, but the VMS host is going out the door leaving just the
DEC unix machine.I don't have too many printer attached but do have a bunch
of printers slaved off VT420 for cash receipts. I guess I'm just trying to
find a good way without having to add a lot of software to the UNIX
machine. That means getting licenses etc. My boss is not real thrilled
about spending money, but we can't afford to replace all the dumb terminals
with PC's right now. Just trying to find the best way to resolve the problem.
We are a DEC VMS shop converting to DEC UNIX. VMS systems and support is
going away. We have a lot of DEC 90TL terminal servers to support LAT for
dumb terminals.
Does any one know of a vendor that has a terminal server that has LAT
support built into the terminal server? I know DEC has the 90M with flash,
but if I need to replace terminals servers, I'd like to do it with
something less expensive until we can replace all dumb terminals with PC's.
Any other suggestions is also appreciated.
