wait IO

On most UNIX versions cpu time is reported in the percent of time spent
in user code, system code, waiting on IO and idle loop. Im coming to the
slow realization that DU, 4.0B in my case, doesn't, cant or wont report
wait io time. Is this true? Or is there some way to get it that Im not
aware of?
