More Syslogd problems/ 4.0B jumbo 8 syslogd is broken

Hi,
after installing 4.0B with Jumbo patch 8 syslogd didn't log remote
infos. Searching through the archiv I found the info about the same
problem with 4.0d syslogd and created the /etc/syslog.auth file with
about 40 entries.

Now syslog dies immediately! Starting in debug mode shows:

hostname=sw27-1.kyb.tuebingen.mpg.de$$
hostname=sw27-2.kyb.tuebingen.mpg.de$$
hostname=sw27-3.kyb.tuebingen.mpg.de$$
logmsg: pri 56, flags 4, from bogart, msg syslogd: restart
Segmentation fault

Searching again the archive I found the patched binary for 4.0d to ftp
from ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/mpsf/gnolte/syslogd
It seems to work with 4.0b too.

Hi Compac-guys, what's about a patched (and tested) syslogd - binary for
4.0b?
