Here was the problem:

Here's the solution:
The executable "nfssetup" must be run on the DECs to update mount/export
info and "get in sync" with the other computers. As I don't fiddle
with the DECs too often, I was unaware of this nifty script. After
running nfssetup, all is well. Thanks to for the helpful assistance.
