  Hi, Manangers:

We just got two 600 Mhz Alpha stations running DUNIX4.0d together with 19"
monitors. However, when we received them, there is no video cards in the
system. Apparently, according to our salesman, video cards no longer comes
with the system! Out of desperation, we sticked in some PC SVGA video cards,
and were pleasantly surprised that even X-window works. Even though the
resolution is not as good as we have hoped, it is more than adequate for admin
and setup purpose.

The /var/adm/messages contains the following lines:
 ....
  vmunix: vga0 at pci1000 slot 8
  vmunix: 640x480 VGA, 16 color
  vmunix: vga0, generic VGA driver
 .....
However, the hardware (from digital research) claims it supports 1600x1200
256 colors and 640x480 16.7M colors.

Is there any parameter we can set to get the higher resolution?
