Several replies mentioning Legato's Networker. Someone also mentioned
Veritas but wasn't sure if they had an Oracle module. Networker looks
excellent but is quite expensive ($22,000 list for the core product and the
Oracle module). I'm still not sure how we are going to do this. The key is
how badly we need on-line backups. If we can shut Oracle down for a few
hours each night we can just backup the data files. The cost of the product
will make the money guys strongly consider this.
