Hi all,
Here is a summary to my last post, however, I am still not clear on
the ADVFS part.
First the summary part:
thanks to Balaji Chandrase and Larry Magnello for replying to me.
Original question follows...
1) Basically, I should relocate all services to the other node in the
cluster and then remove the first node from ASE or restrict the
services to run only on the node in the cluster not being upgraded
at the time, upgrade the first node, re-install ASE. Then do the
same for node 2 of the cluster.
2) I do have to remove LSM and ADVFS which leads me to the next
question after this summary. Then I re-install the ADVFS subsets
and the original fdmns directory. Then re-install LSM.
3) Since I have to remove the subsets for ADVFS, I guess that means
I have to go back to a one disk system disk.
Question:
After upgrading and re-installing ADVFS, the docs say I just have to
restore the original fdmns directory and that's it. However,
(and maybe I'm thinking too deep into this), if I remove the fdmns directory
and then delete the subsets for ADVFS. Upgrade.Re-install the
ADVFS subsets and restore the original fdmns directory......
what happens with the filesets? Are they restored as well and all
my disks will mount up on reboot or with mount -a? If I have to remake
filesets with the mkfset commands, that will wipe out the disk(s).
I assume there is a way to upgrade the system without having to
restore every advfs domain I have on the system.
thanks,
Allan
PS. As everyone else seems to be with this upgrade subject, I'm
missing DU4.0A also. I decided to upgrade rather than do a fresh
install, so we'll have to purchase the CD.
