How do I administer a DECServer 250?

Hello again admins,

The subject basically tells the story.

I have inherited an old piece of hardware (DECserver 250) that I need to get
a DU machine to be able to connect to and do things like reset ports and
label ports, etc. I remember a few years ago doing it on a VMS box, but
I've never known Digital UNIX (3.2G to 4.0D) to do it.

This is what I know so far...

A previous admin managed to boot (using MOP) the terminal server. Now the
question is, do I use ccr or ncl or something else to connect to the server
to perform console commands? If I do use one of them, what are the
commands? I've been tinkering with these programs for a while and the
closest thing I get is ccr to do this :

----
# ccr -c ln0 -h 08-00-2b-17-2f-01 -v
Using phase 5 data base access
Attempting to contact target at 08-00-2B-17-2F-01
using 802.3 format packets on device ln0
No response from above address(es)
Attempting to contact target at 08-00-2B-17-2F-01
using Ethernet format packets on device ln0
Received response from address 08-00-2B-17-2F-01
ccr: Remote console reserved
REMOTE SYSTEM CHARACTERISTICS:
Functions supported: Loop CCR Counters CCR-rsrv
  Version: 3.0.0
  Console user: AA-00-04-00-02-04
  Reservation timer: 10
  Max command size: 132
  Max response size: 255
ccr: Remote console released
----
Before doing a <CTRL>D to release the console, I cannot do anything. Would
this be the password protection?
HELP!
Thanks,
Damien.
