Hi, Managers,
This is a resent of my previous post. Several of you pointed out to me
that I should use straight text instead of attachments in posting problem.
Sorry for the duplication. But here is my problem:
On our newly installed 600au running DUNIX4.0d, I noticed something different
from other systems we had. Would very much appreciate your help to resolve
these issues.
1. On booting, I see the message (as shown in /var/adm/messages)
  ....
  Oct 6 15:28:24 ges11 vmunix: No B-cache detected
  ....

What is it trying to tell me? Is this the same cache we normally know?
Would this severely effect the system performance?
2. On this almost idled system, monitor always shows (significant amount of)
   wired memory.
Mem: act inact wired free Forks: fork vfork Char: in out
    135248 12864 57136 301144 0.00 0.00 0.0 45.5
What is the cause of these wired memory, should I be concerned about it?
3. Using the netcape came with the preloaded system cause Memory fault.
   # netscape
   Memory fault(coredump)
   # which netscape
   /usr/bin/X11/netscape

How can we fix this problem?
4. GNU compiler gcc is installed on the system. User get the following
   message:
> gcc -g -c foo.C
as0: No such file or directory
  *** Exit
> ls -l /usr/lib/*/*/as0
-r-xr-xr-x 1 bin bin 589824 Dec 29 1997 /usr/lib/cmplrs/as/as0
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root 114 9 Sep 4 1997
/usr/lib/cmplrs/cc.alt/as0
 -> ../cc/as0
-r-xr-xr-x 1 bin bin 589824 Dec 29 1997 /usr/lib/cmplrs/cc/as0
However, root has no problem use gcc to compile the code. What could be
the problem?
