We recently got an ESA1000 and an RA7000, and I've been figuring out the
devices on these. I'm getting ready to try to teach our other support
people about the devices, and I'm looking for a way to explain the connection
between the "units" and the rz* devices on the system.
I know (finally) how the rz_* devices are derived, but I do not know
any way to show or explain what relationship there is between a "D100" unit
on the array and the /dev/rrz33c device it maps to on our system. As best
I understand it, the unit names are arbitrary, and hopefully assigned to
make sense and be deriveable, but not necessarily so.
Is there any way to derive this correlation, or is it just a piece of
arcane data that I store away in my vault for job security? %;^)
Many TIA...
