Hello Managers,

This might miss the intent of the list. I have an ase cluster running TCR
1.5, DU 4.0d and Oracle 7.3.3.0.0. I want to create a script to do a backup
on saturday to include
stopping the listener;s
shutdown the database
backup the data base using uasm
startup the database
startup the listeners

This seems straight forward except, when I shutdown the datbase and the
listeners I still have oracle processes running. Does any one else have this
problem and how do you handle this ? I have noticed that if these processes
are still active, that the dbf files are open by those process and even
though I delete the dbf files the df command does not change file
utilization until I stop the processes using a kill.

Thanks,

Jeff
