Hi all. Recently we've run into some problems with using dxadvfs to manage
filedomains on our AlphaStation 255, running DU4.0D. The problems are that
the GUI tool won't show the filesets contained in our two domains, it just
shows the filedomains and that's it. The other problem is that when it
does decide to show us the filesets, I can't remove any left over cloned
filesets that weren't removed. This is prohibiting our backups from
working, since the cloned fileset remains. I checked the logs in
/var/opt/advfs|dtadvfs, and found the following info, which I hope
someone can tell me what the problem is and how to remedy it.
Upon starting the advfsd, the following messages appear in

Once all these messages have passed, the dxadvfs tool displays the
filedomains available. When clicking on any domain to view the filesets it
contains, neither domain will expand, and a error message appears:

Now this used to work fine under 4.0B, and was working up until quite
recently. So what I'd like to know is, how do I get dxadvfs working again,
and how do I fix the above error messages? I'm sure this can be done, but
how can I do the same tasks (ie. remove cloned sets, view filesets in a
domain, etc.) from the command line? If I can't fix the GUI, I'll need to
be able to work with the advfs domains via commands. As previously
mentioned, this problem is causing our backups to skip over filesets that
have a cloned set still hanging around, so quick responses will be greatly
appreciated.
