Ex vms machine, can it run decunix?

I have a Alpha Server machine that was running VMS in a production
environment for 3 years that has been retired.

I was offered $1000 trade for it so I decided to keep it to "experiment"
with. The experiments are WinNT on alpha, Linux on Alpha and DEC Unix on
alpha.

The specifications are AlphaServer 2000 4/233 dual processor, 256 meg of
mem,10 gig of mylex dac960 raid array and a compaq qvision video card.

Dec Unix starts to boot, but when it tries to switch to the GUI the
screen goes black and the install does not any further progress.

I guess my question is is the compaq qvision video card supported with
DEC Unix (also the mylex raid controller). If not, what card can i put
in the sucker to get it to boot?
