I have been tasked with replacing a cabinet of disks connected to HSZ40s
with a new cabinet of disks connected to HSZ70s on a 3.2G cluster
environment.
My thoughts were to install the new controller (kzpba-ca, is this supported
?) into the 4100 then connect up half of the new disks and use lsm to
create volumes and addvol to add them into the existing domains in the ASE
services. Then remove all the old disks using rmvol and lsm (to delete the
volumes and remove the disks). Then use ASE to re-reserve the disks. I'm
hoping this will result in an ASE service that just knows about all the new
disks.
Once that's done. I plan to connect up the HSZ70s properly to both systems
(the second bunch of disks will just mirror the first bunch) and set up the
mirroring and then re-reserve the disks again.
Does this sound okay ? Any other ideas/gotchas ? Should I use the
re-reserve option or is it better to delete the service and re-create it ?
Thanks
