Thanks for the advise from several people.
I can and should be able to run Digital
Unix. The main points were
1. run the ecu (I had)
2. check the firmware (I had)
The consensus was that the Compaq QVision card ought to work. I could
not
get it to work. I have swaped it out with a generic s3virge pci card and
as
I type dec unix is being installed.
Several people suggested I run the setup up from text mode. This may
suit
some people but as the application I plan to use is Genasys II, genamap
- a
GIS application, graphics are important
