HSZ40 Controller - error query

I have two hsz40 controllers in a dual redundant configuration, except
currently they are not because one of them has failed. It is reported
as being in 'LAST GASP MODE'. Aside from the controller meeting it's
maker, has anybody got a better description of what is actually wrong?
I have browsed the hsz40 guide to no avail.
