Original Question
Hi All
I've got a problem with DT session manager since I installed a new network
card
Under X-Windows, after a user logged in, an error poped up with the message
DT messaging system could not be started
1) click OK to get back to the login
2) Select Failsafe session
3) check /etc/hosts to see if your host is configured correctly
Anyway, the hosts file is setup correctly, failsafe session works, root can
logon perfectly without any errors, all straight telnet connections have no
problem. Have I missed anything?
Your help will be greatly appreciated
Thank You
Quy
Solution: As the system error stated above "Check /etc/hosts to see if your
host is configured correctly
The host was configured correctly but somehow during the network
reconfiguration process for the new network card, /etc/hosts was made read
only to "root", DT messaging cannot determine the hostname to communicate,
reset the permission fix the problem
