USR Courier over leased line

Hello,

This question is off topic and I apologize.

Anybody ever used or setup a couple of USR Courier modems on a
leased line? I've spent several hours trying to make them
communicate and they do from time to time, but are not very
persistent--when the connection is broken both are so reluctant
to go off-hook again and try to reconnect. It is also happening
in a very unpredictable manner. On one side there's an Emulex
P4000 (with only RJ12 serial ports--no flow control) and on the
other it's Lantronix LRS2 access server and they should talk SLIP
to each other. I read the documentation thoroughly and set the
modems accordingly. Any ideas?

Thanks.
