Summary: Cloned system and X-Server problem

I didn't got any reply on this one, but were able to fix the problem.

After looking in file /var/dt/Xerrors, I found some errors about missing
files in location /usr/lib/X11/fonts/decwin/75dpi.

So I checked in the location /usr/lib/X11/fonts/decwin, and found that the
low resolution fonts were missing (no 75dpi directory). I did a copy from
/usr/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi/* /usr/lib/X11/fonts/decwin/75dpi/*. Since then the
X11 Server is starting ok.

Don't ask me why it is so. When looking at part numbers of the graphic
cards, it's really the same and both disks were image copy.

Original question:

I want to clone a DU system (alpha station 200) to avoid reinstalling
everything. Both systems are looking same from outside, but when booting the
target system I get the following message:

X-Server can not be started in display 0:0.0 (or somthing similar)

I suppose that this may due to some different graphic card, so I tried to
generate a new kernel from scrap, but it is still the same.

Is there any workaround to this, not having to reinstall everything just
because different graphic card hardware? Or is there an other reason for
this?
