Background: Alpha 2000 with DUNIX 4.0b; no patches
We have a strange problem with one NFS mounted disk. We have two
identical systems (2000s with DU 4.0b) A and B.
The disks on either system is NFS-mouted on the other.
On B:
# ls -l /u02
total 152
drwx------ 2 root system 8192 Jun 12 1997 .tags
drwxr-x--x 20 banner dba 8192 Nov 13 11:07 banner
drwxr-x--x 23 banner dba 8192 Oct 1 21:14 banner2
drwxr-x--x 7 banner dba 8192 Jun 12 1997 bquest
drwxrwx--x 4 jobsub dba 106496 Nov 19 22:00 jobsub
-rw-r----- 1 root operator 8192 Jun 12 1997 quota.group
-rw-r----- 1 root operator 8192 Jun 12 1997 quota.user
/u02 of B is NFS-mouted on A as follows:
/u02_at_B /eu02 nfs rw,bg 0 0
On A:
# ls -l /eu02
total 152
-rw-r--r-- 1 root system 0 Apr 21 1998 ##This_is_u02_on_Ernie
drwx------ 2 root system 8192 Jun 12 1997 .tags
drwxr-x--x 20 banner dba 8192 Nov 13 11:07 banner
drwxr-x--x 23 banner dba 8192 Oct 1 21:14 banner2
drwxr-x--x 7 banner dba 8192 Jun 12 1997 bquest
drwxrwx--x 4 jobsub dba 106496 Nov 19 22:00 jobsub
-rw-r----- 1 root operator 8192 Jun 12 1997 quota.group
-rw-r----- 1 root operator 8192 Jun 12 1997 quota.user
But, root user on A cannot access any of the directories on /eu02.
Get [13] Permission denied error messages. We thought superuser
can access all the files?
Any insight will be appreciated. Thanks.
