Disk Labels

I'm using disklabel to change the partition table on a disk.
But I just don't get it. When I do "disklabel -p rz17" or
"disklabel -p -r rz17" I get one label, but when I edit
the label with "disklabel -e rz17" I get something different.

Which copy of the label gets updated? The one in memory or the
one on the disk? How can I force it to label the disk?

Thanks,

Neil
