Archive-Python tape drives on DPW

Looking like bad hardware, but just in case someone has
conquered a similar experience...

Just dropped in a Seagate Archive-Python DAT drive into a
DPW500au. It is recognized as a Python - edited into the
ddr.dbase file. Yup, running DU 4.0D.
It does respond to tape movement commands (mt rewind and such).

Any actual tape i/o (tar/dump) to device /dev/nrmt0h only
gives an i/o error, with a CAM-scsi i/o error note in logs.

Any suggestions? Thanks, -mark
