I must apologize for the late summary but I have been out of the office
since my original posting.

I had 2 responses, thanks goes to Peter Stern and Miguel Fliguer.
Miguel Fliguer pointed out earlier summary posted some time ago on the
same subject.

I believe that you have to install the System V Environment if you
want to use sar. These subsets have the form SVE*410 and are on the
Associated Products CD, Volume 2, so you need to mount it as /mnt and:
/usr/sbin/setld -l /mnt/SVE

Yes, you need 'sar' to use the performance module of Unicenter.
(other modules may not need it).

'sar' is part of the SVE (System V Environment) layered product
(found at the Associated Products CD) and needs a license PAK
to work. I's not available separately. Anyway, we found that
the performance module from TNG relies on extensive use of 'sar'
to collect system statistics (not much of a difference from the
scripts we already were using). And we didn't feel like to buy a
product just to be able to install another....

Hi managers,

I'm trying to install performance agent for CA Unicenter TNG.
We have 2 Alpha 8400 boxes and 7 Alpha 4100 boxes running DEC Unix 4.0B.

While installing, warning message appeared:
"Historical Performance Agent - WARNING;
 Install cannot locate directory /usr/lib/sa

 Historical Performance Agent Installation Failed."

I checked installation scripts and found out that it's looking for
System Activity Reporter.

Don't you know anything about it ?

Thanx,
Ivan Kristek
