I have created a CDE action on host1 that runs a program on host2(by
assigning the EXEC_HOST in the action) and displays to host1:0. This
works great if user 'slob1' has his home directory shared through NFS.
Our released system will need to have separate home directories on each
host. In order to model this, I unshare $HOME for 'slob1'. Now when I
try to run the action, I get an error stating: "This action cannot be
executed on host "host1" because the authentication file on this host
cannot be opened."
Now, as I understand it, this is because the .Xauthority file on one
host is no longer visible by the other.
So how do I get around the problem?
I have tried various things such as .rhosts, hosts.equiv and X0.hosts
without luck.
I am running DU4.0D with C2.
Do I have to throw away the whole ACTION idea and just use an 'rsh'. If
so, do I have to do anything special because of the C2?
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
