I did not get much response on this one. But it looks like there is
a professionally developed supported product out there to do this.
The product is called logmon from a company called Computronics.

They can be found on the Web at http://www.computron.com/

I am looking at demo the logmon product.

I did get a response asking where someone could find idled.
I would not suggest anyone run idled on Digital Unix system.
