SWAT is the gui (using a web browser) for samba. Samba is an open source software suite that provides seamless file and print services to SMB/CIFS clients. Samba is freely available under the GNU General Public License.

I have successfully compiled and installed samba beta 4 on both our Digital unix and linux servers. I cannot however get SWAT to work on the Digital Unix machine

When I put "http://DigitalUnixMachine:901/" into the browser I get

Authentication database use not initialized first

I did a quick search using this string on altavista and this returned a reference to a non samba related Digital Unix question whose answer didn't help at all (something about crypt()).

To cut to the quick, does anyone know how to get SWAT running with samba on Digital unix.( I have create a smbpasswd file)? I have posted this to the alpha list before I annoy the samba team since this seems digital specific.
