Calling all guru's...
Slightly off topic but... I have been configuring my alpha
farm using some old Norsk Data (yes really) dumb terminals I
found in the cellar (basement if you're american) and after
a bit of wrestling they appear to work but....
In a tcsh I lose the backspace (rubout) function but if I
dump the stty settings for tcsh and csh they are identical...
>cat stty.csh
#11 disc;speed 9600 baud; 0 rows; 0 columns
erase = ^?; werase = ^W; kill = ^U; intr = ^C; quit = ^\; susp = ^Z
dsusp = ^Y; eof = ^D; eol = <undef>; eol2 = <undef>; stop = ^S
start = ^Q; lnext = ^V; discard = ^O; reprint = ^R; status = <undef>
time = 0; min = 1

...so the answer is 'don't use a tcsh' but.... WHY?? I am clearly
missing something here - any offers?
