I had the problem of ZLXp-L2 output signal confusing the monitor, when
Motif started. After trying several monitors from different vendors,
Digital seemed to be the only brand working. However, after finding a
non-Digital monitor that worked, I contacted Dynamic Pictures support.
(ZLXp-L2 is actually a DPI V192 with 32MB of memory and additional
rendering engine.)
Finally Tom Dewey at Dynamic Pictures stated that, due to the DAC used
(IBM 561), both composite sync and separate sync modes are enabled in
high resolution modes. This may confuse some monitors and the solution is
to unplug the Vsync line and to use composite sync instead.
