Well, I am back to the pros for answers....
I have 2 identical Alpha 2100 servers (hardware/software); however,
one runs much slower than the other. We have compared everything
we can think of and everything is the same. I was hoping for clues
as to something we may have overlooked.
DEC2100_A500 4/200
DigitalUnix 4.0B
Dual Processors
576M Ram
5 Internal SCSI RZ28 drives
SWXCR 3-Channel RAID Controller supporting 2 external BA350 cabs
with 6 mirrored sets across each other (RAID 0+1)
The system is disk is a mirrored RAID set.
Both systems are running Oracle InterOffice. This email system
is accessed with Netscape. Connect time being from the moment
you press "login" after entering your password - System 1 will
typically connect in about 7 - 8 seconds. System 2 will connect
in about 35 - 55 seconds.
The two systems are configured identical so that if one fails
the other can be used as a backup. Oracle is configured the
same; the firmware versions are the same; console settings are
the same and the OS is plain vanilla.
Any ideas on where to look next would be greatly appreciated!
I'll post a summary.
Thanks!!
