Hello OSF-gurus,
We have an ageing DEC 3000 Model 300LX Series AXP which
has just had a critical system disk failure.
We are looking to replace the 1GB DEC RZ26L disk with a new disk.
We want to install the hard disk inside the 3000 box (as opposed
to the pizza box) and would like some advice on which of the following
disks would be suibtable (if any)- if there are any overheating problems
etc. Sorry if this sounds stupid, but what is the difference between Ultra
and Ultra Wide- purely rate of transfer?

Fujitsu M2952S 2.2 GB AV Ultra SCSI 8ms
Hitatchi DK328H43WS 4.3GB SCSI Wide
IBM 2GB UltraStar ES 8.5ms (Wide)
IBM 4GB UltraStar 2ES 8.5ms (DCAS 34330)
Micropolis 4.5GB 7.9ms Ultra SCSI 4345NS
Quantum Fireball ST 2.16GB SCSI
Quantum Fireball ST 3.2GB SCSI
Seagate ST52160N Medalist Pro 2.1GB Ultra SCSI
Seagate ST32171N Barracuda 2.1GB Ultra SCSI
Western Digital 2.1GB Ultra SCSI
Western Digital 2.1GB Ultra Wide SCSI

                Thanks in advance,
                                Tim Gibbon
