advfs question

With the command "chvol" it is possible to change read/write
characteristics.
To me it is not clear where I should place this information.
The manual-page says the default is 128 blocks (64K).

The pagesize shown with showfile -x gives 16 pages (8k)
Is this the minimum extend size ?
I have been told by Digital that this value cannot be changed.

I know something about the Veritas Filesystem, which works with
"extends" of
different sizes f.e. 8k, 16k, 32k, 64k. Sequential I/O performs in that
case better.

Does ADVFS work similar ?

If it works similar, is the value you can change with chvol, the maximum
extend size ??

Any indepth info on ADVFS is welcome....

It is not every question that deserves an answer.
