dxaccounts

We have several DEC 3000's running Digital Unix 4.0b and CDE. For some
accounts, when we su to root and try to run dxaccounts, we receive the
error-

"account maanger has exited unexpectedly - please file a problem report".

This problem occurs whether we are logged in local or via telnet or rlogin.
We have found that deleting a line in ~/.dt/sessions/home/dt.resources
on the the system where we are locally logged in will cure the problem until
a change is made to the CDE environment again. The line deleted is different
each time. DEC has said that this will be fixed in a future release of Digital
Unix.
Has anyone else seen this problem? Does anyone understand what's
going on? Does anyone have a more permanent solution than deleting lines in
 ~/.dt/sessions/home/dt.resources?
