NIS, C2, and passwd files

Hello All,

I'm setting up NIS on a server and a few workstations. We have
a large number of users for the server and a small number for the
workstations. We are running C2. Also, this is my first exp. w/
NIS. BTW, this list (archive) has already proven VERY helpful
on this matter.

After using the nissetup script I find that /var/yp/src/passwd
has most of the users from /etc/passwd. Now they don't work (can't
login to the client) because they don't have an entry in
/var/yp/src/prpasswd. That's ok I know how to fix this.

Question: Can I remove (w/ vi) the entries in /var/yp/src/passwd
that I don't want to be in the NIS database? I know I still have to
create the entries in the /var/yp/src/prpasswd. I'll do that w/
either edauth or dxaccounts.

Thanks in advance,
odk
