Task table full?

The other day, we were sending out about 600 emails (not spam!). During
the
process the following came up on the console.

Jan 30 10:00:16 alpha vmunix: task table is full
Jan 30 10:00:48 alpha last message repeated 16 times
Jan 30 10:01:38 alpha last message repeated 40 times

I scanned the mail.log to see if there was any mail that sendmail (v
5.65)
didn't have "sent" as the status, and saw none.

Question #1, what is the task table
Question #2, if it's full, could some email not have gone out?
Question #3, how does one make a bigger table?

As far as I can see the time frame was 10:00 - 10:01:38 which was about
the same time span of the emails.

The program which sends out the emails, does a loop which uses "mailx",
does mailx fork off another process? and if it does and the task table
is full
will it wait for the task table to be unfull?
