ATM packetfilter support under 4.0D

Hello,
I have another question. I know someone asked in a similar way few weeks
ago, but I don't remeber responses.

The RelNotes for DU 4.0D mention:

A DIGITAL UNIX host is attached through a point-to-point physical connection to an
IP switch. The IP switch is an ATM switch with added IP controller software that
performs IP routing and traffic classification. The IP controller and the DIGITAL
UNIX host communicate using the Ipsilon Flow Management Protocol (RFC 1953) to
dynamically create ATM virtual circuits for carrying IP traffic. DIGITAL UNIX
Version 4.0D provides support for IP switching on a dedicated ATM adapter.

ATM LAN Emulation (LANE) provides a means to carry Ethernet or IEEE 802.3 LAN
protocols over ATM, including multicast and broadcast protocols. In DIGITAL UNIX
Version 4.0D, LANE support has been improved to more closely emulate an Ethernet
interface, including support for packetfilter and tcpdump. In addition, use of the
LAT protocol is now supported over ATM-emulated LANs.

In this release, most of the ATM subsystem has been more closely integrated with
the rest of the DIGITAL UNIX networking support. ATM adapters, signaling, Classical
IP (over SVC's only), and LAN Emulation can now be started automatically during
system boot. Also, you can now use the netsetup and netconfig utilities to
configure ATM logical network interfaces (LIS and ELAN).

--------------------
My situation is: DU4.0B, running on AS1000A, having Fore Systems ATM PCI
200EUX card. I don't use any kernel support for ATM from digital. I just
use the module supplied by fore and it works for me quilte a long time. It
seems that I can't get the card running with DEC's drivers(it's not in
supported options list, why I should, yes).

1. Under 4.0B there's no ATM packetfilter support for ATM(only
10Mbps Ethernet or FDDI). I can't understand, while I'm running LANE, it
could probably behave as an ethernet, so I could get tcpdump running on
/dev/el0 (ELAN 0) - it should behave like ethernet.

2. In few days, I hope will upgrade to 4.0D. So, the questions raise
again:

-can I use DEC's kernel drivers for this unsupported card?
-can I use DEC's LANE driver concurrently with FORE's module in kernel
image? It seems from the RelNotes above that the packetfilter support is
in LANE part. OK, can I mix DEC's LANE with FORE's module?
-if NOT, how can I get tcpdump running on that ATM PCI card? What do I
 need in kernel?

TIA
Martin
