I asked for some reason why adduser made a new directory <username>
under /usr by default.
I solved the problem myself just after sending the email - because
adduser is a shell script
which have a look at /usr/users. If it doesn't exist (and it doesn't
exist after a 4.0D installation)
it recomment the /usr/<username> as the home directory.
Dr. Tom Blinn, 603-884-0646 [tpb_at_zk3.dec.com] replied that he can't find
who made the change
and why, nor it's documented at the release notes.
So simply make a /usr/users and all seems working as years before with
the adduser script.
best regards Dirk
