Hi all!
We upgraded to DU4.0B this last weekend, and along with it we now use CDE
for our X windows sessions (we previously used Motiff). With Motiff in
the session manager we were able to set the number of lines which the
screen would save in it's buffer so that you could scroll your window
back up to see what you did previously. With CDE it's not quite as
obvious how to do this.
By reading the man pages, I have determined that this can be done by
using "dtterm -sl", giving the number of lines that I want the window to
save as a parameter. However, I don't know where to type this in at. I've
tried at the shell command line but that didn't work.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

This is what I have in my .Xdefaults file:
Dtterm*saveLines: 1000
Dtterm*geometry: 80x46
Which sets the number of lines to save and the size of the screen.
If you want to change the command executed when you click on the CDE
icon, I
think you have to edit the "action" wherever it is.

Hi Steve,
I've added the following lines to my .Xdefaults file:
! Dtterm resources
!
Dtterm*saveLines: 10s
Dtterm*menuBar: false
This hides the menu bar (personal preference) and sets the number of
saved
lines to be the equivalent of 10 screens. Then, whenever a dtterm is
started in my CDE session, the above defaults are used.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Dave

Go back to using motif. Run xsetup as root.
If you continue to use CDE, don't overlook one of the recent
CERT advisories on problems with some of the dt commands in
/usr/dt/bin.
