How to make ppp connection to ISP?

Hi,

Could you please help me to configure my DU box(AlphaStation 255,DU 4.0)
to connect to an ISP using a modem? I have prepared /etc/Remote and
/etc/acucap but don't know how to establish a ppp connection. The pppd
man page didn't help much. My ISP uses an Ascend access server and I
should interact with the server after dial-in.
