Hello Managers,

I have just rebuilt the kernel to enable the option of ISO 9660 Compact
Disc File System (CDFS). I did so in order to mount the cd "Oracle
Video Client". The content of the CD showed up - it was not mountable
before the kernel rebuild.

I mounted the cdrom manually by:

mount -r -t cdfs /dev/rz4c /cdrom

However, when I 'ls' some of the subdirectories, the cpu panicked, giving
the following mesg:

vmunix: Unaligned kernel access va=0xffffffff83c3c15d pc=0xfffffc00002c59ac
          ra=0xfffffc00002c5940 inst=0xffffffff

vmunix: panic (cpu 0): Unaligned kernel space access from kernel mode

  vmunix: device string for dump = SCSI 0 6 0 1 100 0 0.
  vmunix: DUMP.prom: dev SCSI 0 6 0 1 100 0 0, block 131072
  vmunix: device string for dump = SCSI 0 6 0 1 100 0 0.
          DUMP.prom: dev SCSI 0 6 0 1 100 0 0, block 131072
  ....

And the system went into reboot.

The CD is marked as "Production for Digital UNIX 3.2", but I didn't think
that would be the cause of crash.

I'm on Alphastation 255/300 using DU4.0

So what is that I've done wrong here?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Jie
