Thank you very much to Alan, Susan, Leon and Dave for helping me!

Here is what I finally did to get the new SCSI card (and attached disk)
recognized:

    shutdown -f -h now
>>> b -fi genvmunix
    doconfig -a
    cp -p /vmunix /vmunix.980206
    mv /vmunix /vmunix.trash; mv /sys/FERMI/vmunix.FERMI /vmunix
    reboot -q

After rebooting I removed vmunix.trash.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A few remarks:

It looks like doconfig -a also takes care of the new device files.

doconfig -c FERMI did not work! /sys/conf/FERMI was identical
to /sys/conf/FERMI.bck.

After doconfig -a:
diff /sys/conf/FERMI.980206 /sys/conf/FERMI:

86c86
< dfldsiz 134217728
---
> dfldsiz 520200704
106a107
> #UNSUPPORTED mmsess0 at isa0 slot 7
109a111,112
> bus pza0 at pci1000 slot 10 vector pzaintr
> controller scsi3 at pza0 slot 0
It would have been possible to construct the last two new lines
from information in /var/adm/syslog.dated/*/kern.log generated
by genvmunix:
Feb 24 21:58:26 fermi vmunix: pza0 at pci1000 slot 10
Feb 24 21:58:26 fermi vmunix: pza0 firmware version: DEC P01 A10
Feb 24 21:58:27 fermi vmunix: scsi3 at pza0 slot 0
Feb 24 21:58:27 fermi vmunix: rz29 at scsi3 target 5 lun 0 (LID=2) (SEAGATE ST12
The only thing missing is the "pzaintr".
Other useful things I was told:
Online documentation incl. System Administration Guide:
    http://www.unix.digital.com/faqs/publications/pub_page/pubs_page.html
The KZPSA-BB we have is not Ultra- but just Fast-Wide-Differential.
