Dear expert,
I have a Digital TZ877 autoloader connected to an AlphaStation
running Digital Unix 3.2C. We are also using Networker version 3.2A and
the device name is /dev/rmt0h. We used to used CompacTape III, but currently
we bought some DLT tapes:

        DLT IIIXT (30 GB)
        DLT IV (40GB Data cartridge)

Whenever, I used the above tape with the auto-loader, I got I/O error with
"tar cvf /dev/nrmt0h ." and the autoloader "Use Cleaning Tape" led flashes.
The tape works fine on my Sun DLT tape drive. Did I use the wrong device name,
or do I have to build a new kernel to support these tapes. Any idea? Thanks.

Regards,

Georges Chan.
