Sorry if this is a repeat message, but I haven't gotten any responses
so I thought maybe it didn't get out to the list.
We are trying to load DU 4.0 on a customer's AlphaStation 500 that
had Windows NT loaded on it. We loaded the DU OS software, but when
we boot the system we get the following message:
(boot ewa0.0.0.6.0 -flags A)
Trying MOP boot.....
and it eventually fails. This looks different from when we boot our
typical DU machines. What is a MOP boot?
We have tried to update the firmware, but that fails too. We tried
comparing all the boot flags to a DU machine we have and adjusting
a few of those did not help.
Is it possible to load DU on a formerly NT machine? If so, what is
the secret? We normally use AlphaStation 255s, so I have no experience
with AlphaStation 500s. Is there something special about them?
Any help is greatly appreciated. I will summarize to the list.
Thanks,
Mike
