Hi managers,

Do you know if either of the tape devices:

/dev/nrmt0a /dev/nrmt0l /dev/rmt0a /dev/rmt0l
/dev/nrmt0h /dev/nrmt0m /dev/rmt0h /dev/rmt0m

automatically compresses the data written to it? I am doing
remote backups from some Silicon workstations and I *can
not* use NFS, so no way to use vdump -C.

Thanks in advance.

PS: The command I am using (dump -f tapehost:/dev/nrmt0h
doesnt work) to backup the Silicons is:
/sbin/dump 0Ccuf 4m - | /usr/bsd/rsh tapehost "/bin/cat >>
/dev/nrmt0h"
