Hello managers,
meanwhile i've received another very interesting mail from Dr. Tom Blinn
(which is too long to post it to the list...) on this topic.
So i'll try to sum it up here.
After a detailed chip-story (working inside the "au"s) he stated:
(no citations, these are "my words")
-> In the SOC, May 1997, (Systems and Optiions Catalog) when the
PWS 433au were listed for the first time, the KZPAA-AA was
listed as a supported adapter
-> In the SOC, NOV 1997, it has disappeared
-> On the other hand the KZPAA-AA is still listed in the DIGITAL UNIX SPD
as supported for/by the "au"s.
-> to the best of his knowledge there has been no change with the "au"s
(aside from possible firmware-updates...) between may-97 and nov-97.
This raises some questions:
-> What happened to support for external SCSI on the "au"s during
the period from may-97 to nov-97 to cause the KZPAA-AA to no longer
be listed as a "supported" option?
-> Why is there no available supported external SCSI option for the "au"s?
And as before we were left confused...
With regards,
Bernt Christandl
