i have gone through the archives and read the how-to from sunsite, but i still
have some questions.
- does the firewall(pc, alphaserver, etc) have to be a standalone system
or can the proxy server (or ip-filtering) reside on a configured running
server?
- does the firewall have to have 2 nics(one for input from the net and the other
out to the local lan or wan)?
- does the firewall have to be the the first connection on the local lan from
the router, or can it be anywhere on the local lan.

any input, thoughts, insights, or personal experience appreciated.
will summarize.
thanx!
