I'm preparing to add a disk to my AlphaServer 400 system. The disk in
question is a Fujitsu model M2934SAU (4GBytes). I do not have any
documentation for this disk other than what is printed on the unit itself
(which isn't much).
I don't know if any entries currently in my /etc/disktab file apply to
this disk. I don't think so, but I could be wrong. I searched
http://www.fujitsu.com and located some "functional specifications" for
the disk at
http://www.fujitsu.ca/technicl/csm2934.htm
also there is some information at
http://www.handnet.com/computer/4gbscsi7200.htm
I *think* I can construct a new disktab entry from the information
presented at the second URL I mention above. However, I haven't done this
before and I'm wondering if I'm going about this right. Is it appropriate
to modify /etc/disktab or will I be sorry later if I try it? Does anyone
already have a valid disktab entry for this disk?
